ive sold a few motors in the past on ebay,
ive had afew retract bids, some have the decency to contact first,

happens alot,

some ebayers have ghost accounts, so they can bid there auction up and retract once its got to target,
Big con but it happens, sometimes you can catch them out by there Mobile tel no,
just type it in to google and itl pull there ghost account up if they have one,

Thanks guys, not used ebay much, hence the question.

I really want to keep my Vw so a 406 estate seems great to transport the dogs about and holls.

Cant justify selling my vw and parting with 14k :| for a car that is more est/ mpv

Clutch could go on for a long while as Doggy's lasted past 150k. But definitely ask about the cambelt. Peugeot's original interval for the 110 specified 96k or 10 years (although 72k or 5 years is probably more sensible), so I wouldn't write off the guy selling it to avoid having to do the cambelt himself if he's left it to the manufacturer interval. A relatively recent (within 2 yrs) cambelt change is a selling point, so you'd make the effort to mention it.

If it was no further than your area Doggy, I would make an offer. I know distance shouldn't be a problem for the right car, but I've seen cars that were advertised as immaculate (& looking ok in photos) that were really quite poor in the flesh. Before I bought the Partner I looked at a white 2.2 GTX for £2795, but closer inspection revealed well rippled sides, a poorly resprayed front end & very floppy COMM unit.

No problem with de-fap, off wiv the filter, smash element out, easy / cheap to convert to non-fap map, or more oomph while you're at it. 8)

This one cost me £1500 with a dpf fault and 88k miles, but had had a cam belt fairly recently.

The one you're looking at is probably worth about the same, but as it doesn't have any current problems, there's likely to be more people after it, which could push the price up - (no one else bid on mine).

I remapped the previous one at 137k and eventually got some clutch slip about 50k later. It only slipped a couple of times in extreme circumstances, but as I had a family holiday to the south of France planned, I got the clutch & DMF replaced to be on the safe side. It wasn't really seriously worn in the end.

I don't do 0-60 and such, but....

how about 40-60 in 3rd 5.0 sec., 70-90 in 4th 10.1 sec., 80-100 in 5th 13.2? (that's standard).

Now we have 40-60 in 3rd 3.5 sec., 70-90 in 4th 7.0 sec., 80-100 in 5th 9.7

If you go for one, I can sort out the software for you.

Thanks for the info 8) and the offer of the re map.

I agree 0-60 means nothing on a diesel mid range punch is what its all about.

How easy is the dpf to remove? Any issues passing the Mot? I think this guy has spent mega money sorting the dpf.

Thanks again Doggy. Ok, smashing the dpf filter seems very easy. Have a friend with a garage so no probs there. How will the car run after?

Whats happens to the dpf fluid and electrics for the dpf, does all the dpf software need removing?

What map is yours running? Eco or performance? Really looking for a decent 2.2 hdi.

Exactly the same, except no more FAP issues

Once it's disabled in software, the car just behaves as if none of it ever existed

Economy's about the same, but it's much quicker.
