It's better than the 'Luton Pink' that affects many 'Red' cars that left the production line at Poxhall. I've seen no end of faded/pink Corsa's and Arsetrays with this unfortunate colour.

At least they got a top coat. Here's the colour I'm referring to on the one at the front of the pic here:

My dad had one of them. Was green though. And everything was green: seats, plastics, everything! We really liked it

I know the colour. they also did a pre-faded shade of blue too.

We appear to have gone full circle in interior colour schemes - the 307 I was contemplating had an interior with everything in green too.

On the subject of tasteful interiors, I'm giving serious contemplation to getting one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140929090334? ... 1423.l2649

Won't be near as economical as the diesels I've been looking at. but purchase price is at least £1500 less, they're pretty bulletproof from that era & it'll only appreciate in value as it gets older (as long as it's looked after). Only other problem is not being able to use W4UEJ, but Mum's got A12CBH on the Mondeo, so could always swap. The reg plate would probably end up being the big deciding factor in not getting one if I didn't. I do love seeing the car in the car park with my little boy's name on it & it's going to be great for him when he eventually starts driving.

Of of my best friends had a red Fiat Uno which faded badly. I can still remember the day that a young lady he was trying to flirt with described it as "pants left in wash pink"  Strangely enough he t-cut the whole thing shortly after...

I so wish icouid find a mk2 cav
They where brilliant motors,
People called them to feck but they where easy to work on and cheap
No cam belt tensioner to worry about and they where reliable.

Unlike the shite they replaced the cavs with,

Much preferred the RWD mk1's, (specially in coupe / manta guise). Had a 1.9 coupe, then a 2.0 sportshatch and finally a much modded 2.2 manta coupe that absolutely flew.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

4 10mm bolts on the gearbox removed a plate, then with a couple of special tools, shaft from gearbox could be withdrawn and clutchplate bolts undone, all slid out the bottom all very simple, Rac/AA used to change them roadside as it was easier than recovery
