The man who sold me the forester bought a volvo v70 2.4T for £800 with 120,000 miles i was looking at it when he was giving me the log book for the subaru.
Its a very nice car, i can see why volvo ownership is so tempting.
The car though makes a lot of white smoke when you take your foot off the throttle after giving it the beans, and it doesnt have as much power as it should, could this be the turbo?

Re: A Volvo Question
I too was tempted by a Volvo.
When I had my 90, I was looking for something with a bit more ooomph and was watching T5Rs on eBay. Nearly bought a lovely Olive Green TWR model, but owner said he was lucky enough to get up to 25mpg if he drove it carefully...!!!
Still very tempted as they are beautiful cars, go like fury, but can't overcome the running costs - even an LPG converion is nearly £1000.
Maybe when I retire........
White smoke is normally fuel based, engines are normally bullet-proof though.

Re: A Volvo Question
If its petrol powered there might be. Nothing wrong with it
A lot of petrol powered cars chuck white smoke out this time of year
Even brand new ones can look like the hg is on the way out,

Re: A Volvo Question
Smoke after the over-run is normally oil burning, if it's a diesel engine then it could be unburnt diesel/oil or even a blown head gasket.
The engines are normally strong so something isn't right for sure.
