Thanks scotty73 for the prompt to get my seasonal efficiency graph out again :cheesy:
Each bar shows monthly low and high MPG, measured by brim-to-brim filling.

Comparing the two: petrol is dearer to tax and to insure. MPG is 34 vs 51 (average). Power 138. Torque 190Nm / 205Nm.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I was doing about 300 per week at the time. At first Birmingham to London and back once per week, then later Slough to Aldermaston and back 5 times per week. Down to 100 to 150 per week now, but with more very long runs occasionally. I reckon the tops of those bars are as good as anyone's gonna get out of a HDi 90. Best I've done on a tank is 915.1 miles. Got my second worst ever tank this Feb at 48.91mpg. That 46MPG in December was an 8 hour 30 mile journey in snow.

Anyway, now Welly's asleep, anyone for a bit of Volvo bashing

There is a smaller selection of engines in the Coupe, but they give the idea on performance & economy -> http://www.406coupeclub.org/Coupe_Engines.asp
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

It was meant completely tongue-in-cheek, and I'm very sorry if it over-stepped the mark. I hold our moderators -- and indeed all forum members -- in very high regard both for their astonishing knowledge and experience, and the general good humour that makes this forum so friendly.

Overstepped the mark? I don't think so, most of the mods and (present) admin appear to have sold their souls to the devil and are driving "Swedish" cars made from rejects from the Frod part's bin, so I reckon they deserve everything they get :P
