There is a belt to drive the fuel pump.
The belt is in a cassette and has an oil feed. It's designed to make the belt quiter and last longer (Apparently). This belt used to be a chain.
Then there is a belt between the fuel pump and the camshaft.

Nice little install there, but did you not use heat-shrink to insulate the soldered connection?

The scratch on the bonnet is quite bad, and there's a fair few stone chips - it might be an idea to think about respraying the bonnet for the best results (at a really good spray shop).

I didn't snip the reverse light feed I just simply removed some insulation so there was no way of sliding the headshrink ontothe wire. I did think about removing the pin from the plug to do it but just left it taped in the end.

If I respray the bonnet then the front bumper will have to be done too and they will have to blow the paint onto the wings. I think when I have the money, a full front respray is the way to go.

Never mind eye ball, that's at head height and is probably quite capable of ripping someone's head off without pausing

Suspension has been lowered 35mm on Eibachs.
Car feels much more stable at high speed and seems much more settled on fast bends

Decided I'm going to bifuel my car with LPG. It would see me a 10-20% reduction in fuel costs and an increase of about 25% in torque. Coupled with a remap it would make my little 1.8TDCi a very pokey motor indeed! Probably running aroun 170bhp and 400nm.

But next thing to spend my money on is bodywork. I have to sort out the front end, it's irritating me now. Not sure weather to get the whole car resprayed or just the front.

I didn't realise it had been lowered until I read the text so it's probably not too much.

I did read that you can lpg diesels but all you get is a power increase, you can't run it on just lpg. Did this change?

Nope you're right, thats why it's called bifuel.
You can save fuel, not just because the LPG is half the price but because it increases the combustion chamber tempretures which means you get a more efficient burn.
That also means no smoke, faster turbo spool times and faster warm up times which also means less engine wear!

I'm hearing you on fm, in the winter the HDi never warmed up properly unless it went on a long run, I always worried about how much damage I was doing to it. Unlike the Yoyo...

I would be careful with LPG, purely my opinion but I wouldn't want anything which made the head run hotter especially with sensitive piezo injectors and then you'd be sending much hotter eggsauce gas at the turbo which'll be like "hey great more heat for me"...........also as a kinda 'cycle' the intercooler might struggle on hot days. I'd personally stick to a proper remap and keep it simple (you'd get better mpg then anyway).

The LPG is used in very small amounts. Usually around 10-20% of the amount of diesel being injected.
You have to think of it more as an additive than running it on two fuels.

Seems a bit pointless unless you're doing mega-miles then? sounds to me like something a fleet of lorries would benefit from? you'd have to check whether you'd even get near to recovering the cost of the system.

Quick google suggests your insurance shouldn't be affected BUT I actually saw an LPG Rangey on fire on the M1 a couple of years back - you shoulda seen it go up closed the Motorway in both directions for fear of explosion it was a massive fire I'd be amazed if an insurer didn't see LPG as a risk.

I'd be getting a UKLPG approved installer to fit it.
Based on an increase in economy of 10% I would break even after 18months-2 years.

I'm not doing Mega miles but pushing 25-30k a year.
