Non 406 DPF Question

Post by gumby6371 »

The better halfs 307 is getting a service at the weekend but while I've got the spanners out I'll be stripping the DPF and giving it a good clean with the jet wash.
She doesn't want me to go down the diy de-fap route as she dubious about messing with the car too much and also sceptical on my abilities not to kill it
It's currently suffering the usual blocked DPF symptoms of lack of power, poor fuel economy and fans running on after short journeys.
My question is this, if I drill a few holes in the DPF filter will it upset the BSI or just help to keep things flowing better?

If you drill a few holes then you will likely bring the EML up.
Someone on the coupe club put a plate with a few holes in it between the DPF and exhuast in hope to confuse the pressure sensor but it didn't work.

I would personally Defap it without her knowing

So that brings up the next question of is there anyone nearish to Telford willing to remap a 307?

And if I get the software side done how quickly do you have to remove the filter from the DPF before it's cpmpletely blocked?

If you get yourself a flash programmer & send me a copy of your ecu file, I can probably delete the FAP & send you it back. Assuming that stops the error messages, you can then drill one big hole through the bugger, (about 4.5" should do nicely).

As it's already giving problems you would need to remove the FAP asap after determining the software works.

Thanks Doggy, it's not giving error messages yet but I dare say it will be soon.

What kit do I need and is there an idiots guide for using it anywhere?
