Privatisation? What, selling us things we already own at a loss while making all her rich friends even richer by giving them all the top jobs? The "have now, live in slavery for the rest of your lives" economic policy? Closing anything down if it wasn't making any money, making hundreds of thousands unemployed while outsourcing to the 3rd world? "This bag of groceries from Harrods has less in it than this one from Sainsbury's? I could go on but my blood pressure wouldn't take it.

I am glad I didn't live in the UK during her reign!

But RIP anyway - a life lost is hardly a laughing matter.

Oh yeah, it's starting to ring bells now, British Telecom, British Gas etc...

Apart from the Poll Tax thing I don't think anything she did had an effect on me, in fact it was probably the opposite, I remember prosperous times back then, everyone seemed to be working anyway and Petrol was cheap, there was one problem when interest rates went through the roof but I was still living at home so couldn't care less.

I guess in the end though we've all paid one way or another for the mistakes made back then.

Being that she shoved it on Scotland first (1989) to see how we'd react before inflicting it on anyone else, it wasn't popular here. I was 9 years old when that happened, and I still remember people talking about it back then.

A series of riots the following year when she tried to spam it out on England and Wales pretty much finished off her career as she was out in November 1990.

Now, whose signature was it on here that was protesting about her getting a state funeral at taxpayer's expense?

That would be me (surprise! :cheesy: ) Now I'm really glad I'm not in the UK, it'll make the news here of course, but you guys are now going to have to suffer a load of "wasn't Thatcher wonderful" bollocks on tv for weeks.

Speaking of funerals, it occured to me hers will be loads of all the other hateful tories, including Major and that idiot we had as chancellor at the time, can't remember his name but he looked like grandpa off The Munsters, you know the one, he gambled away 10 billion quid trying to keep the pound within the ERM *paging Mr Fawkes*

Good riddance to the f*cking evil bitch , i lost my job beacause of her
shutting the pits and destroying communities i also watched young men
die because she removed navy protection from the Falklands despite being
told the consequence would be Argentinian invasion and all because her
popularity was on the decline the result , she was re-elected on a wave of
jingoism . Nothing but a self-opinionated heartless cow !!
.. ooh are those drugs for me Matron

She was partly responsible for inventing soft ice cream. Without her there's be no Mr Whippy!!!

Not sure that'd be a world I'd want to live in...
