I thought the BSI controlled the mileage?
I remember when doing the battery I was cautious about losing, or gaining mileage?

The BSI and Dials store the mileage.
If you swap either the BSI or Dials then the car will default to the highest of either.

I see, I recon I need to do my homework as to see how much of a tricky job it is.....
And in fairness, I should be modding the car when it's actually on the road.........

Mechanic can only get out here 30th, so MOT will have to be put on hold

I've noticed the actual spec of the final few 406's is a bit random - I've seen 2003 execs with ordinary black dials, black with chrome rings and white. Avaialble with / without 'Welton Panel'. :? This looks like an SE with exec seats, (note the lack of seat / mirror memory). Never had one with black leather so can't comment on the colour of the back seat catches.

I've also read this bit of text at least 3 times before:
As always I personally collected this car and can tell you that on the 110 mile trip the drive was out of this world for what you would expect from a large sized diesel estate car, this model is not that. Benefiting from the 136 Bhp the car drives as if it was a sports hatch with an unbelievable amount of torque. The drive was perfect and I was very surprised on how good on fuel these 406 diesel versions really are as it was returning 51.9 mpg at 75 miles per hour. The car starts at first turn of the key and does not leave any smoke whatsoever with plenty of power when needed. The body work also is quite unbelievable as it does not show any signs at all of the mileage travelled, the front wings and bonnet area are not stone chipped like you would expect, in fact the whole car is in a condition that would relate to a mileage example.

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

As Doggy says, my 2004 exec has black / chrome dials, which I didn't like and expected white dials - but now my dash is all black ( not tatty and scratched silver ) I will stick with them.
Maybe Peugeot just used what parts were left over when building the last of the 406s?
Welton Panel ??

@Sonia - these will not fit your car as they are too new, sorry

I don't have chrome on the grille, does that mean I don't have the chrome rings either? I can't remember either

Come on dude you been here longer than me and you don't know what a Welton panel is? it is the chrome under the grille and it was named after Welly who was the first on here to try and fit one... They set the front end off pretty damn nice too.

If someone spots white dials for a petrol, please let me know!

White dials for HDi crop up every so often but are useless for petrols because petrols rev up to 7000 and diesels up to 6000 - I also seem to recall the scale on the speedo is also different.

As I will be splitting the clocks to get the white dial backings and the needles out, it doesn't matter to me if they're broken.

Petrols with white dials seem to be rare as hen's teeth - from what I know, they only appeared on late-model S and SE cars.

There's always Indglo ones you can get from a chap in Poland. I don't think you'll get the MPH reading though. Why does UK have to be different with their miles malarkey.....?

You can get the Indiglo ones in MPH now, and they will allow you to order them individually (they originally needed a batch order before they'd draw up the design)

Still would prefer the OEM Peugeot white dials though
