80% of posts are general rants/chats around here and 20%, if you're lucky, are actually about the cars in question,

Trust me on this, I have been on some very bad forums indeed, where a lot of people just post crap that's neither interesting to read nor related to anything that the forum is about.

Much like this particular post!

Ummm... sorry you found this post crap nor interesting.
I found it interesting because of all the machines doing the work, I thought they at least had some humans involved... I found it interesting - so thought others might.

No - MY previous post, not your original thread starting one :cheesy: I actually watched that video a few times and found it quite interesting. Was trying to figure out why some PSA cars have such shoddy build quality (Citroen) - maybe it's all those spot welds the machines do rather than a nice seam?

Ahhhhhhhhh - See what you mean now about what you put in your message on the book
Probably is......... it shocked me that that part of production is purely just machines slinging them around

I think any reliability issues that arise from PSA cars have nothing to do with the assembly line its the accountants and engineers who design the things,
whoever decided a com2000, Multiplex wiring, and dampened crankshaft pulley were good ideas are partially to blame,
the people on the assembly line just put the stuff into the cars.

As for a video of PSA production lines here is a good video of the 307 getting built:

another good one for the 605

But it's not the fact that COM2000 is a COM2000. It's the fact that they break and interiors squeak and rattle. The fit is generally poor (poorer than German/Japanese) hence everything is allowed to work loose.

You can't really knock their engines as they are very solid units; both petrol and diesel. Mine is on 153k now with no signs of stopping. The rest of the car is starting to fall apart though...

Com2000 & multiplex are good ideas, but poorly implemented.

Dampened crankshaft pulley, again good idea poorly implemented.

The engineering is good, but is hampered by the accountancy.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
