I posted the proof of no claims on Saturday 20th and insurance company say it hasn't arrived. GRRRR
To now make matters worse, their admin team is a few days behind after having an ''exceptionally busy'' weekend, so it will be Monday before they confirm my no claims.
Can I tax the car with a cover note that's only valid for a month?

Yup. as long as it is currently valid you will have no issues.Sonia406 wrote:Can I tax the car with a cover note that's only valid for a month?
Once taxed a car with a day insure policy. Bit of a stupid requirement that you have to have insurance to tax it when that insurance could become invalid at midnight the same day.

I thought in this age of data exchange that as long as you gave them the name of the previous company you earned the NCB with they could find it themselves,i can't remember the last time i needed to provide proof of NCB when changing companies as it was all on the insurance data bank.

Yep - they are just too lazy.
My company are in partnership with said previous insurance company so in fairness, it SHOULDN'T need me sending paperwork....

The insurance company's I've used and the current one
Have always demanded to see proof of ncb
But they work off a paperless system,
There you go print that off there's your insurance documents
Yeah but I've no printer ff,s carnt you send me them. No
So then you have to buy a printer,
