Re: Fuel Prices falling?
It's called FuelLog, it's very good too. Not just for fuel but all other costs too, calculates very realistic running costs per mile, average cost per day, week, month etc.
It always amazes when people say they don't pay attention to fuel prices. They're varying by 5p per litre around here at the moment. The 406 has a 70l tank, so that's £3.50 a tank! Well worth saving in my opinion!

Thanks... Just paid for the 69p version.. Need to log a few fuel ups first but will be good!

EDIT: is that on the iOS systems or 'Droid?
I've downloaded 'Fuel Log' and it looks absolutely nothing like yours

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
I have also just downloaded ' Fuel Log ' and it does seem it will take a few fill-ups before getting proper data. Android btw.
I always check for fuel prices, at the moment there is a BP at 149.9 and an ESSO at 134.9 - guess which one I went to..
If it is 2p per litre difference, I don't bother. I am not going to spend 80p in diesel driving 2 miles, just to save £1 on diesel....
If you are going on a trip, try www.petrolprices.com, fuel may be cheaper where you are heading....

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
Ive been using an iphone app called road trip for almost 2 years and it has been very good, every fill if diesel has been entered as well as any servicing or parts bought for the car, its very good although a bit depressing to see how much you can spend on fuel over such a period of time.

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
Is this interesting or just my over thinking?
If you read my last post ^^^ i sorta cocked up last week fill up when i switched from Asda to Esso... (or did i?)
Just been for this weeks fill up i had done 200 miles at a round cost of £30 @£1.35.9 per ltr... My mpg figure for this week is 41.18mpg... Now for that mileage around here i normally get about 38mpg ish.
Is this better fuel or just my over thinking? I'm hoping it's better fuel because it's no more expensive than Asda plus i got 11 Tesco club card points... Not sure how that work from £30 worth mind you but like they say every little helps.

It's 1 point for every 2 L I believe!
And contrary to popular belief diesel isn't just diesel. It does vary in quality!

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
I'd love to use Esso fuel for the clubcard points as when I was runing the Focus on Momentum I was getting £20 or so every few months!scotty73 wrote:Ah that makes sense i had 22ltrs.Bailes1992 wrote:It's 1 point for every 2 L I believe!

My nearest Esso is 6 miles out of my way

My car will run on Tesco diesel happily but seems to drink it like it goes out of fasion!
I recently tried Texaco Supreme and the car seemed great for a day or two before it started playing up. It cannot handle diesel with a higher bio content than 5%!
If I do put a diesel in with a 7% bio content it starts pausing and hesitating on the motorway.

That means I can't fill up at Shell, ASDA, Morrisons, Texaco, Waitrose etc etc.
I'l stick to BP Ultimate for the time being. Might look into getting a Nectar card.

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
Strange. On my 406 the difference between Morissons and Texaco was like night and day.
I'm preferring Texaco at the moment. My first tank on the 407 was Shell super diesel, and that was definitely a bit

Re: Fuel Prices falling?
The bio content isn't the only issue. Most cars should handle the 7% no issues but Ford issue warnings with their cars (Or at least they did for a for a few years) saying not to use anything with more than 5% bio in it.rwb wrote:Strange. What I understand is forecourts get delivered a basic diesel product. It's the biodiesel and the additive "package" that gets injected during the filling of the forecourt tanks that changes from garage to garage.
