My license was issued a long time before photocards were ever dreamed of and, since I still live at the same address (and never had any points

The wife however has had a change of name and a change of address (because she was silly enough to marry me and move in!) so she's got a photocard with a paper counterpart.
I've gotta say, I do fancy updating to a photocard just for convenience (because my paper one has literally fallen apart and is now sellotaped together, which means that I no longer carry it with me, which I believe is a minor offence in itself) but I just resent the fact that you're forced to pay for it.
