I don't know what tailpipe to go for?

They are smashing out the inside of my CAT and I'm having a straight 2.5" system through to a straight through unrestrictive back box.

I'm thinking of having TX084L.

It will be cut into the lower valence of my car and because my bumper curves around where the tailpipe is going to come out the tailpipe should sit flush because it's staggered.

Whoa whoa there  you're going for twin eggsauce tippage? are you sure?

I'm guessing you have the OE 'donkey's plonk' tailpipe like this?

Image

I'd think very carefully before anyone goes near your valence with a hacksaw etc. I'd only want to see one tailpipe and something which follows the curve of the bumper at the least.

It's all down to personal taste but be careful you don't do anything drastic, why not try photo-shopping a few ideas first? I believe steve_earwig is a dab-hand at p-shopping

Yeah I'll sample a load of tailpipes before I make a decision!

Guy who runs Prospeed is a South African bloke called Charlie. Met him a few times when having minor work done on the Focus, always a good laugh!

I turned up and the garage was open, few people working there but no sign of Charlie. Started having a nose at the tailpipes and seeing what would look good on my car.
Charlie turned up out of nowhere while I was holding up a Twin, Slash cut tailpipe and said "Ahh, you can't have that mate it will look sh*t"

He reccomended a Miltek style 5x3" oval. Turned up at 3pm to be greeted by this...

I actually think it looks very good, I was worried it would be too big!
The car is almost silent when driving it but gives a nice deep raw when it comes on boost :cheesy: Plus...Turbo is spooling earlier but you can feel the MAP is holding it back.

Got to decide between getting my bonnet sorted and lowering it now

Bonnet mate. Wouldn't have thought it'd be a great idea lowering something as modern as that as you'll probably ruin the ride & I'd think that the handling is already pretty well sorted.

Eibach are what ford use on the Titanium X Sport models. They lower the car by 35mm and are progressive so they start out soft and comfortable but as they compress they stiffen up.

Still need to call some smart repairers about my bonnet.

I reckon that looks good to be fair. Why don't you have it remapped now?

Lowering should only be done using an approved original spec'd system I wouldn't go for some aftermarket kit; the ride would be too choppy etc.

If I so drop it I will use ford approved eibach springs as they won't compromise the ride quality.

I want to get it remapped but umming and arrring about getting a bigger intercooler and a custom intake made up first.

The joys of living with parents really, I've got lots of things I'd love to do to my car (probably £2K's worth of mods) but I cannot because I have a Mortgage, bills and two teenage fridge-raiders to keep going :|

I've just had that little service which totaled £240.00, then the Summer tyres back in March (£500.00, now one of the aux belt tensioners has crapped out and needs doing asap - I'll be up to £900.00 on "essentials" :frown:

Since December I've spent...
£700 timing belts
£520 tyres
£150 service & intermediate oil change
£350 exhaust
£190 brakes
£175 tax

Just "essentials"
