Very easy if you have a Bosch EDC16. But your car can also have a Siemens Sid801 which is more difficult. Can you check for labels around the ECU or ECU box?wasp wrote:I wonder if they can boost the performance of my 307 estate, 1.4 hdi... 0-60 16.3 secs...even longer if i have the shopping & the dog in the boot! 0-100 N/A (official figure) ....top speed 97mph

Hi, I'll reply point by point:Frenzy406 wrote:Hi there, I have the 180 map on my 2.2 Hdi. 2003 Estate, with straight through de-cat de-fap 2.5" system.
I was very happy with it for a couple of weeks but soon got bored, so i started bleeding some boost signal to the map sensor to increase the boost ( very basic I know, but it increased driving fun ) from 1.3 bar, gradually to 1.8 bar ( after first fitting a very large FMIC poking out of the front of the car ! ), until it started dropping into limp mode too often.
I'm not sure exactly what power /touque i was getting, but Obviously the 1.8 bar did give a considerable power & torque increase above the 180 ( would estimate at least 200ish bhp) to satisfy me for about a month, until it wrecked my turbo.
I replaced with another standard turbo and only increased the boost to 1.5 bar, which i think allowed the turbo to live for about a year longer.
My car is now off the road waiting for a bigger turbo and theoretically a new map?
So my questions are :
1) What would be the highest power / torque levels you would be able to / wish to supply for this engine? (considering that when i squeezed 1.8 bar thru the engine, the increase was quite noticeable, but as it is never enough, i want to push the limits )
2) I have a T28 Wastegated turbo to try out, do you have any opinion/advise on this, or suggestion of a different bigger turbo to use?
3) What other modifications would you recommend to gain more power ( eg details of injectors, pump, internals etc?)
4) I am also considering upgrading to a 6 gear 'box, would this have implications for a remap or could i do that at anytime before/after?
Kind regards, Neil
The car is relatively cheap in the UK, but turbos and turbo fitting isn't, sadly!Busman wrote:Which has got me thinking that these cars are getting so cheap now that it's more economicaly possible to experiment a bit more....
Hi, yes we could fix it up if the ECU's at fault. Would you please give me your address so I can estimate the cost of shipping back?kevinday284 wrote:Hi
I have a 406 2.0 hdi 90bhp the aa said my ecu has a problem my car will not start im get power thou to the glow plug relay but when u turn the key on power is going to relay but not coming out to the glow plugs I've changed the relay already and the A said it could be the ecu how can I check this or how much will it cost to send it to you guys for checking the ecu is a Siemems part no 9646801180 or 5ws40024F-T it has 3 plugs on top .
many thanks for taking your time to read this
Depends on which ECU you have. Do you have the Bosch or the Siemens? The Bosch is very easy to deal with, the Siemens more difficult and will require you to remove the ECU from the car to read it.dirtydirtydiesel wrote:Hi'
I have a very good condition 406 110 hdi, it's done 79 thou with full service history & fully sinth oil every 6 thou, my question is what power upgrades can you offer me,
bearing in mind I am looking at de-cating, full st/st 65mm exhaust, better intake / air filter ass, de-egr'ing & air dosser & a big fmic![]()
Look forward to your reply Paul.

Well then you're going for 150hp, above that you have to start minding the clutch tho. Unfortunately we are actually closed and on vacation now, so for a more complete answer you'll have to wait a few days. By the 25th iirc we'll be operative again. If you can send me a reminder around that date I'll make sure we get you an approximate quote and power/torque numbers.dirtydirtydiesel wrote:SorryOdinEidolon wrote:Depends on which ECU you have.
