Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi Dave & wllcome to the forum 8) ,
I have just purchased pp2000 of a guy in the uk from ebay, so far so good I payed 79.95 inc p&p which seamed a good price. From what I can gather by reading all the threads on this on this forum basicley they are all bootleg copy's from the same orignal source so you pay's your money but get's the same thing.
Now I know next to f**k all about computers but my buddy that has sorted it for me tell's me there was a nasty virus hidden in the software that could read & copy keystrokes & passwords if you uploaded it to a computer that you had conected to the internet.
This is not a prob for me as my buddy has sorted the virus & I have bought a lappy solely for the purpose of Diagnostic's anyway that I won't connect to the internet.
Just wanted to let would be buyers out there know what we have found out so far, You need a laptop with windows xp for it to run anyway & Do not what ever you do connect to the internet for update's on the software as it will be wiped out as it is a bootleg copy, you can't get real pp2000 unless in the trade & lot's of cash £1000+
Hope this help's a bit & I will post more when I have used it this w/end & I know how it work's with the car  Paul.

I bought mine from a Scottish source on ebay whose interface is a lot better than others so you pay more.
Jim also gives one hundred per cent back-up which you don't get from Chinese sources.
No need to worry about virus or malware if your laptop xp is dedicated to pp2000 and nothing else.
I've had no problems so far.

Sounds like you don't have the interface drivers installed. They will be somewhere on the cd that came with the unit.

No worries. I've been in electronics and info tech for a long time.
Too many PP2000 threads on the forum to be bothered with.
Anyone with any probs send me a pm and will do my best to sort out.
