Re: pp - bristol
Sorry, neither have PP nor am I near Bristol
What's happening? Maybe we can help diagnose the problem from the symptoms rather than the codes?

Hi Highlander
This one is slightly dangerous. I noticed my cruise control was not workng today then as i was going up a steap hill the car acted as i had taken my foot off the acc pedal and started dropping speed. To get it back i had to take my foot off the pedal and put it back on. I reset the BSI and went out stil no cc and still did it once or twice. So my in laws suggested going out for tea so parked mine up and we went out for an hour or 2. Come back and found that CC was working fine now, however got the same issue going up a hill

Re: pp - bristol
Cruise control deactivates when you press either the brake or the clutch. If you press the accelerator, the car will accelerate, and if you let go, the car will slow to the pre-set speed, so the accelerator itself can't deactivate cruise control.
This means that there is a microswitch on both the brake and clutch pedals. If the microswitch for either fails closed, then it would result in the cruise control deactivating either randomly, or immediately after every time you try and switch it on. Checking/replacing those switches would be a good start.

Re: pp - bristol
Normally a turbo diesel will pull uphill no problems - its the best thing about them - but if yours slows down on a hill then I would look at turbo pipes to check for leaks....
Unplugging the MAF is a good idea, this will eliminate it as faulty if problem persists.
