This one is way overpriced but it is one of the best colour combos, and only 72k:

Also you can retrofit leather if you so wish, don't let that put you off an otherwise decent car!

Oooh! I like that one... but yes - way too much for an 11 year old car.

Timing belt kit isn't hey expensive, but would also do crank dampner pulley, aux belt tensioner and idler pulley. Thermostat and coolant temp sensor, at the same time.
In all a couple of hundred pounds in parts, and took me about 4 hours to fit.
You may think that is a big bill for a new car but after that it's worry free motoring for 5 years.
(custom stainless exhausts mid/rear section seem to cost around £300, depending where you go, but also mean worry free motoring)

I'm desperately looking for another reasonable priced estate that's a 2.2 hdi with electric seats and working puddle lights but the fact is, I am finding nothing!
All I can see is gutless 90 and 110s
I still haven't heard back from the idiot so I'm guessing viewing tonight is off the cards........ [insert a female pissed off face here]

Only one on AT at the moment:

Lovely example but again, overpriced for what it is. I do like the SE interior though.

Remapped 110s do move well enough. You should have asked for a test drive in mine at the meet.Sonia406 wrote:All I can see is gutless 90 and 110s
Nowhere near the guts of Dogsmobile but it's enough for overtaking without the fear of not making the corner.

Isn't our resident 90bhp driver taking you to view the car?Sonia406 wrote: All I can see is gutless 90 and 110s
I hope he's in a right pissed off mood and gives you hell.
Like CJ said the remapped 110's can shift... Ask the dude following me in a Vectra the other morning all nice and close and looking a tad pissed off and in a rush... But when i came off the roundabout and only gave it half the tin of beans he was left standing... Bellend!
Re: Drove past this last week and oh look - it's on eBay
Well said scotty , having driven the doggy mobile i would love a 2.2
that had been tinkered with by Eric but i think doggy would agree
my 110 could not really be called gutless

The 90 is an astonishing piece of kit, but it is painfully slow off the mark. I've never driven a 110!
There are cheap exhaust bits a-plenty on eBay, but the critical thing is that the cat/fap unit it in tact, and as said above, I'd be surprised if it isn't.
Fair point about the cam belt, clutch, etc., but doesn't that apply to any car of this age? Suspension parts and rubber bushes in particular are all going to be shot -- again entirely normal.
It's easily sorted with a trip to see Jasper, plus you get the piece of mind knowing that it's been done and it's been done right.
What's not easily sorted is if it's peppered with dents and scratches. I think it's the cosmetic condition that will most influence the price...
...and so to the bottom line: what is it worth?
If I was looking for a 2.2, it'd be a saloon. I'd go to £1200 but I'd be a lot happier at £950. I looked at one for £500 and it was a mess.
Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Re: Drove past this last week and oh look - it's on eBay
I've found a NICE 110, it's one of the first D9's (Older than my car)
It's a GLX (so it'll have the electrics for the seats etc)
Has 155k on the clock
Not in a colour I'd prefer, though it's in Radlett and is cheap.
Been told interior is 'as showroom condition' and the only bad points are:
- Missing a front fog lamp
- battery unlikly to last the winter
- Only have one key
- Although there is a service folder, no idea when the belts were last done
Minor things.... Do I - or don't I? It's approx 80 miles from me and as I say, is in my immediate price range.
