If I had my time again I'd buy an Estate as they've managed to hide their age very well and look purposeful/businesslike.
Cars in my care:

Re: hello all
Good god, wonder why the turbo just went? Not cost effective to replace I am guessing, even with a second hand one?slimfb wrote:it is with great sadness that i have had to let her go to the scrappy in the sky

205, I'm listening .... standard 1.9 or turbocharged? My 205's 1.8's DT were indestructible, I want another!

Re: hello all
I believe the 205 dt was the car that brought the diesel from the dark, commercial side to the otherwise petrol public. It was an excellent, quick and frugal car for the general population. Be were first but there golf was slow......
Shame the 406 had to go but sometimes it is what has to be done, move on.

Re: hello all
White smoke? Hmm... I would have thought it would be black smoke..all that unburnt fuel due to lack of turbocharged air.
Shame - I don't think I've heard of a 406 turbo failure before.
