Hi mate and welcome,
Model and year would be useful but I'm guessing its the switch at the base of the lever. Lots of info on here if you search but I'd need to know more details about the car to be sure.

Re: handbreak indicator and beep sound
Hi, welcome.
The chances are it is the switch at the base of the handbrake lever, under the centre console - but sometimes the light comes on and beeps for other reasons.
Is there anyone near you that can do diagnostics with PP2000 ( Peugeot diagnostic program )?

Re: handbreak indicator and beep sound
hi
I live in kingsbridge, Devon. I want to fix it by myself, I can afford to pay anybody.
To me just get rid off the beep will be ok, because i checked with a mechanic and he said that the handbrake is ok.
thanks

Re: handbreak indicator and beep sound
Not sure about this, as I've no personal experience, but I think on early D9's there is a common warning light/message for both handbrake and low brake fluid.
(If anyone knows better, please chime in).
I suggest making sure your brake fluid level's ok before doing anything else.

The glovebox light switch is the same switch as the handbrake switch...

Re: handbreak indicator and beep sound
I think is going to be better if just take off the fuse for the beep. Anyone know which fuse number and where is located?
thanks

Looks like it's either MF9 or MF12, you'll know you've got the right one when your dash stops working (i.e don't do it!)

Well, you're wrong.relaxtrading wrote:I think is going to be better if just take off the fuse for the beep.

The microswitch that sits under the handbrake costs hardly anything at the dealers. The job to replace it is
straightforward. And once you've done it, the relief from having to put up with that really annoying beep
is quite enormous.
Why ask for advice, if you're only really interested in a bodge?

Re: handbreak indicator and beep sound
Sorry I don't understand quite what you're saying. Is the light and beep on when the handbrake is on or off?
In my Peugeot owners handbook 2001 2lt, there is a paragraph about Beeping and low brake fluid warning!
Peugeot say that this warning is normal if the engine is running and the hand brake is on!
hope this helps
