AA Renewal premium rip off.

AA Renewal premium rip off.
I took out roadside breakdown cover with the AA last year for £32.00. Got my renewal in and it's up to £66.00 !!
Phoned up to ask why and was told I got a new customer price last year. However roadside cover is still £32.00 online and when I pointed this out to the customer service girl she immediately offered to match it.
The moral is never accept your renewal price for anything.
Oh, and watch out for the AA, they're out to rip you off the same as everyone else is !

It happens to me every year with my breakdown renewal,i tell them I want to cancel, they ask why and I tell them Joe Public can go on line and get it cheaper than me being a loyal customer,"please hold" and then "we can match the online quote".Why not give me the best price in the first place!

They know they're despicable too. As soon as I said there was a problem with my renewal she asked if it was the price. No argument, she just agreed to match my first years price straight away.
Poor girl, she must have to deal with hundreds of such complaints every day.
For the record I never get angry with the representative. I find polite friendliness works better and also i feel sorry for the poor sods - I've worked in call centres - (Scottish and Southern Electric in Perth), worst job I ever had.

I have there Gold Membership (ooh get me!) and they tried taking me to the cleaners this year until I rang up to CANCEL the policy they immediately produced a huge discount and I stayed with them (even got home-start into the deal). I still believe they offer the best breakdown service so am happy to be in their care as it were.
Vote with you feet I guess is the moral, sadly applies to just about any service you pay for.

I get AA cover through my bank, the top level. Three times that I had to use them, they've been very good.

Remember when Tesco's did a 10p/Ltr off Fuel if you bought tinned fish? but then they'd marked-up the fish to balance the deal in their favour
These days 'Special Offer' is usually shrouded in some confusing bollox designed to make you think you've done alright.
By biggest annoyance with these things is the Window Companies offering to fit your windows for free
(what, like the men are all voluntary and you get free vehicles and free fuel?)
Oh and the Carpet one - "free underlay" yeah ok

buying a bottle of Baileys for a xmas present in our local More Reasons
750ml bottle with a big red price tag"special offer" £13
1 litre bottle not on offer £12
i always get my breakdown cover through Tesco's who chop and change provider every year, always been reasonable price, but it looks like they've binned the breakdown off now though, must be losing money for them
so this will be my final 12months with them

Re: AA Renewal premium rip off.
i'm with the AA and have been for ten years, every year when i get my renewal i ring them and say i can get a cheaper deal from rac and every year they match the price and say we can do it this time but it's a one off deal

Re: AA Renewal premium rip off.
Does anyone pay the renewall quote; every year I too go through the farce of saying it's too much and then they reduce it by 60%
