Depend which forum you asked on. (did you try audiworld?)
some are not too friendly so you may not get quick response.
Audi/vag arnt too good for picking info up off the www.
as with anything Vorkswanken related you must have deep pockets to own anything modern

I tried audi owners club, and audi forums, ill give that audi world a go.
I think we are a bit spoilt with the peugeots, service box, sedre, petrilia, haynes, etc. Even the pp2000 machine is cheap.

Vag is better than pug pp200 for Diag.,
all you need is a lead and a copy of vagcom, (vagcom lite is free)

Re: Audi A4 Not starting
i bought a vag light thing off ebay for my uncles golf it never worked, in the end a wee portable machine i bought for £30 that does vag stuff works all right on them, but a friend has the lend of it, he is from co meath and has the NCT tomorrow and an engine management light that comes on his polo 1.4, the problem is an 02 sensor, but if the fault is reset it stays off for about 5 mins so hopefully he will get through the test. If i had the machine id plug it into the a4 but it would probably just say the switch is broke.
But i still think pp2000 is easier to use, at least when bought its not the light version

The small code readers are ok,
but just for basic stuff, no good on airbags/ abs or if you want look into other stuff,
vagcom normaly does the job which lead did you get with it?

Re: Audi A4 Not starting
I got a blue lead, with a transparent plug on the end
The wee code reader is surprisingly decent, it only works on VAG stuff and you have to select what module you want to read codes from, engine, airbags abs etc it does seem to pick up the other stuff quite well, it can't configure any options on a car but will read codes.

Re: Audi A4 Not starting
Sorry for the thread hijack Frank

Edit: is the Wrenault one there too?

That would be excellent but before you dig it out I should confess that it's not for me, it's for my mate Goran in the car spares shop - I've set him up with Service Box and Citroen Service and he's finding them really useful (unlike the garbage that's on supplier's catalogues) and he's asked me if I knew of one for Renault. I did look a couple of years ago but it appeared it needed paying forlozz wrote:Renault ? (seriously?steve_earwig wrote:[cheeky bugger]Do you have one them for Renault?[/cheeky bugger]

Re: Audi A4 Not starting
For some reason we are not allowed to board the old ship anymore, it just says site blocked, the ebay disks are handy enough royal mail is usually quicker than the download speed anyhow.
