I drove back to Zagreb yesterday morning at about 11, there were only a couple of cars on the road and I thought "now would be the perfect time to test your air raid sirens, you bastards"

Happy New Year all 
Chatting with my friends and looking at all the Facebook statuses the consensus seems to be that 2013 was a bit shyte and most of us are glad to see the back of it. My 2013 had many highlights but on balance it was one of the most difficult, stressful and challenging years of my life so far. The majority of those challenges were work related, it's funny how the thing we do to pay the bills takes over our lives and causes us so much heartache. Some of you may know that I own shares in a Training company, so a bad year for the company is a bad year for me, and as a result I took home less money last year than I ever have since I started my first full time job (which was actually 17 years ago today). I'm just lucky and eternally thankful that I have such a great and supportive network of friends and family (and that my wife has a good job!). I know 2014's going to be another tough year but I'm going to try to manage the work and financial stress better and enjoy the family and fun time more!
Here's wishing us all health, happiness and prosperity in 2014 and beyond.
