Bet that thing don't move  Probably got no torque what so ever.

My Missus KA is weeping a bit of oil from the head gasket. It never really uses any oil so never really worried us.

Thing is I have a bit of spare cash hanging about and had this manly urge to build an engine. I was going to try get a knackered 1.3 lump to rebuild but thought I might as well drop a 1.6 in.
Not a big rebuild. Strip it down, get it cleaned up and rehoned, new bearings and rings, rebuild the head and chuck it all back together!

Seen a few hyabusa conversions in person. They are okay if you rev the tits off of them but absolutely nothing low down. Imagine VTEC but 100 times worse

Never said it was pointless? Probably great fun on track where you can open it right out and keep it revving up high.

Diesel conversion would have been good fun and wouldn't have cost much at all. But she wants to keep the KA so it can't be off the road for long.

I don't think a 1.6 conversion would be pointless either. Fuel consumption couldn't be much worse and the power a bigger CC would give you much better driveability all round.

The missus has a little rust around the filler. We keep sanding it back and painting it but it starts to bubble a few months later. Ford to a repair panel, if once we move out we keep it I will get it fixed properly.

I quite like it, it's like a little go cart and the old 8v engine is pretty torquey too!

Would love a track car but nowhere to store an extra car or anywhere to work on it.

Sorry Bailes but I'd have to disagree with you on that, A few years ago me & a buddy built a lowcost with a turbo busa engine in, 415bhp at the wheels & 310 lbft torque! trust me that thing flew, but yes you have to rev them, but believe me a sequential 6 speed box & over 600bhp per ton = FUN!!!!!!!!
