Probably because after a couple of mild winters your local authority though it'd be ok to sell them off and pocket the cash.
It took the ploughs/gritters a while to get here too, mainly because they do Zagreb as a priority but the streets were all blocked up with stuck cars because the dullards were still running summer tyres, despite it being a legal requirement now. Mind you I did see 5 ploughs charging about during the first day, not actually ploughing but obviously on their way, er, somewhere. You'd think all they'd need to do was dip the blade and carry on, it's not like they drive much slower while they're doing it anyway

Well there's the thing actually, the last 2 Winters have been harsh in the UK (remember the road Salt nearly running out?) and Screen Wash changed hands under the cover of darkness panic ensued and MP's were on 'telly. So we've kinda been warned to 'get prepared' hence the seeming popularity of Winter Tyres (which'll now be held a laughing stock).

The weather is really winding me up.
My car is absolutely filthy and desperate for a clean but it's far too wet!
I've got a lovely drive on the house I've just bought so going to order some new car cleaning gear.
Tried to convince myself I need a new pot of wax but I have 12 pots at the moment, two cost over £100! 5 cost over £50

Well as a soon to be house owner I can't afford to modify my car any more. So keeping it clean will have to be the next best thing.
That and taking pictures of me doing said cleaning. Basically what I used to do as a poor student! I had the cleanest D8 known to man!
In fact, that's another point! I bought a DLSR off Dai a few months ago which I have taken about 10 photos with. Maybe I'll have to start playing about with that some more!

I'd hold on to that wax, if interest rates go up you'll be needing something to eat...
Pah! I'll be okay... 5 year fixed term

Oooh, I had a fixed rate mortgage, fortunately for you interest rates are unlikely to get any lower And rest assured, they're unlikely to go any higher until I have no savings left
