Driver's side heater flap failed on my 407

Wife came home from work saying her driver's side heater isn't working, according to this thread it can be fixed...any tips? C.J. or anyone?

Oh dear. Yes, it can be fixed. You need to cut into the heater box from under the steering column to retrieve the broken flap, glue it back together (I used metal epoxy all around the shaft), put it back in the heater box and glue the cut out section of the heater box back in. I did this on my passenger side and it's still working well.

The proper way is to remove the dashboard and open the heater box properly...

There's a looong thread on Peugeot Forums about this... here with various methods of mending it.

John theres a place in Doncaster that removes your dash and repairs the flaps in an afternoon at a cost of about £250

This is kind of off topic but there was someone over on the idio, sorry, Toyota forums where the dealers managed to break the holder for the pollen filter which required the dash removing to replace it. I gather all the rattles from it afterwards drove him around the twist. I guess what I'm saying is I'd be cautious of having the dash off if there's an alternative. Not that hacking a hole in the side of the heater box looks like fun... :shock:
