Hi to everyone.
Not been on hear for a while, busy with other things but my 1997 406 1.9td has just failed the dreaded MOT.
It needs welding as follows
Nearside and offside rear (outer sill) Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded.
Nearside rear (under sill) Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded.
Nearside and offside rear (outer sill) Seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded.
The garage says it is about 5 hours labour - does this sound about right to you guys and do you know of anyone who could do it at a reasonable price in the Southhampton area.

Hi mate.
5 hours labour ? hard to guess.
depends on how much welding is needed,
what theyre welding with, Arc. mig gas etc, carpets seats may have to come out depends on where there welding and what with ,

How did the welding go
Re: Just failed MOT - needs welding
Hi Hamster, I am not sure you will get any response as it looks like this thread was last updated 2 years ago !!
But I would say 5 hours labour is the minimum it would take ~ it's just the hourly rate which is debateable here.
Peugeot dealer in Portsmouth now charge £89 per hour + vat = £106.80 per hour

not that any sane person would ask them to weld anything at those prices lol
