Engine Misfire?
Something i noticed tonight when driving the car, initially it started off with a funny fan belt like noise which went away after a bit of a rev, sometimes i get a bit of a squeak from the fan belt if the car has sat for a few days and its wet. But when i was driving the car under boost it felt like it was holding back/cutting out with a pssht sound like a dump valve during acceleration. After a few minutes of driving it stopped but i was wondering what could be wrong, there are no lights up on the dash, i dont have pp2000 with me to check the codes.

Where do the 110s normally leak boost from?

Never owned one, so not sure. Likely candidates would be all the hose connections, maybe the doser spindle (if fitted). At least a 110 generates some boost at idle, (which a 2.2 doesn't), so you may be able to 'listen' with a length of tubing, one end against your ear.

FarmerPug sounds almost like what i was getting. Try unplugging the MAF does it make it better? It would be fine then feel like yopu have taken your foot off the accelerator?

Re: Engine Misfire?
Yesterday the car was on the orange light (fuel light) i drive with it on until the trip computer says ----, this technique has never failed me the car had about 35 miles of range left
I dont think its the maf sensor it gave trouble last summer with no boost until after 3000 rpm, this time when i got the dump valve noise (the noise a souped up turbo makes when changing gear) the car held back and this was when accelerating on boost
It happened last night and went away, today i put £20 of diesel in and done about 60miles down the motorway with no problem, im not saying its cured and ill need to get a better look at the car to see what it could have been, the dashcam might have heard the sound last night so ill try and get some footage off it if i can

Re: Engine Misfire?
Still no repeat of the problem, but i plugged in the pp2000 to see if anything was stored, and a permanent fault with the MAF sensor appeared, given the car has a used MAF sensor that came from an older car with more miles on it, it probably needs to be changed, the wires and connectors all are in good condition.

Would a europarts MAF sensor be a good replacement, is it ok to use that discount code on the DIY servicing page?
