Summer tyres back on but pulling to left

Post by Welly »

My winter set up was to fit 4 x tyres and have a 4-wheel alignment......everything remained spot on and car tracked perfectly.

I've had the summer tyres put on (the exact same size) and now it pulls to the left :? it shouldn't have made a difference swapping tyres, what do you think? the summers are in perfect condition and with very little wear (no inner edge wear or stuff like that).

No they're on fine (eventually  ) they're even on the same axles as before. All the pressures are correct to.....ooh hold on I did squib a bit more air in for a motorway run I just thought.....might drop the pressure a tad and try that first (looking at 50 sheets for a re-alignment, want to avoid).

Maybe my slightly-raised pressure is making the front wander about.

Weirdly my summers were pulling left a bit before I took them off but they're not now they're back on :supafrisk:

In my case it's all about wear patterns, silly low profiles and cambers though, 'cos the winters didn't do it at all.

I guess you should set the pressures right and report back. I meant swap them front to back (or side to side, or whatever's possible with these stupid directional tyres...)

Can i ask you all on here, just dont want to make new topic.

I have same,my car pulling to the right, even on 20mph,and when i reach about 60,i have so big vibration... Vibration dissapears on 80mph

I had new track rods,track ends,top shocker bearing,wheel alignment done,no difference

Any ideas anyone? And it happened in a weeks time...

All i can do is put back wheels to the front, and balance them?

Try swapping the fronts to the back and see if it goes away. You may have lost a balance weight off one of the fronts

If it's doing it at 20mph then I suspect it won't be out of ballance, more like out of round. Failed belt perhaps

Probably 95% of vibration problems are down to the tyres, often as Steve says because the are out of round or have a bulge due to ply separation.
