Do all D9 HDi's have DPF's?

Post by fattail95 »

Hi guys,

Just wondering, do all D9 HDi's (mine being a late 2001, 2.0l, 110hp) have DPF's? Or is it only fitted to the very late cars?

Many thanks!

Only D9 2.2s usually have DPFs but Peugeot do list a DPF for the 110 in their parts catalogue.
Also I seemed to own the only D9 2.0HDi (90) with a DPF? :?

Take a look at this, the DPF fitted car is marked DPF on the right, you can see what is fitted via the diagram.

If you need to be told It's the two pics where the cat assembly bolts together, the bottom three pics have two there.
Or search on here for DPF removal & some pic's will pop up, or you main dealer can tell you / service box with your vin.

Excellent :D Pleased I dont have to deal with that nasty thing! Will have a check tomorrow though to make sure...

Looking forward to getting it remapped :) I'm really enjoying the car thus far, and its great to have a lovely and supportive community available.

Thanks for everyone's help in all the threads I've submitted. Although I'm asking more questions than I'm answering, I'm doing my best to learn and help give back.

Doggy :arrowu: look up :arrowu: Bailes :(

Can be quite worth while ditching the cat :supafrisk: , mine got robbed & I replaced it with a bit of 2 1/2" straight pipe.
Now it pull's round to 4000rpm where before it stopped dead at 3200rpm & wouldn't pull past 105mph on a private test track :supafrisk:
Last week she pulled round to nearly 120mph :cheesy: , I'm told the benifits are even better with re-maping.
I just haven't got round to it yet  .............

Ooh I like the sound of that! Do you just gut the cat and leave the shell there? As I believe MOT tests now require any CAT that was fitted as standard to be present.

With regards to the power, yes I agree its dead from 3300rpm onwards, but I've still had 120mph out of it on stock 110bhp map (on the track of course! :P )

Looking forward to the remap, the EGR has been blanked off to which has helped with the low rpm torque.

Not this old chestnut  , you can nock the guts out but you will have to cut it out to get to them
So you might as well just replace with a pipe, Diesels DO NOT NEED A CAT FOR THE MOT, it's a visual smoke test only, their for petrol cars(for mot purposes)

The MOT garages are getting news of EGR / FAP / CAT etc having to be standard ( as they left the factory ), but I believe they are only interested in cars built after 2008.

Check this out

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 1-2014.pdf

Relevant bit as far as I can tell:
On 16 February 2014 Section 7.1 of the inspection manual will be amended to include a check for the presence of catalysts and particulate filters on diesel powered vehicles. Any vehicle where a catalytic converter or particulate filter is missing where one was fitted as standard will fail the test.
