What to do with a free KA?

Post by Bailes1992 »

Looks like I'm going to be getting a free KA in the next few weeks.
2006 KA, poverty spec with about 70k on the clock.
It's a solid motor, usual KA rust around the filler cap.

Question is what to do with it?
Do I use it as a daily and use the Mondeo for weekends?

Or

Get a cheap SportKA engine, fettle with the suspension an little and use it as a weekend/track day thrash-about?

Push it over a cliff, film it & stick it on Yew Toob :supafrisk:

Keeping a Mondano for the weekends, well, it's hardly a classic you're saving there. You could flog the Mondeo and buy something interesting/hugely uneconomical for the weekends, and use the Ka for work as planned.

Track day car, didn't you just buy a house?

Flog it & stick the money under your mattress/buy something you actually need/take t'wife on helliday/blow it all on booze.

And drive the KA for work.

Some window stickerz like: "my other car's a Mondeo" etc might help......

The Ford KA serves no purpose and must be disposed of. :P

Anyway, what's the point having the Mondeo if you don't drive it?

Nothing wrong with brown cars, I had a brown Marina once. Well, it was mostly brown with rust spots. And then I killed it. I still have a picture of it somewhere...

Good job there was no youtube in them days :supafrisk:

I'd love another 406 but insurance on a KA is £400/y and a HDi110 406 is more like £800.

Our 406 insurance was £135.00 you need to be old and live in the country. :D

My 2.2 is cheaper to insure than my old 1.9, IIRC £340 fully comp with 5 years no claims, tax was less and economy is about the same.
£800 sounds very expensive to me.

Buy a 406, you know it makes sense :cheesy:

If you wanted a small hatchback for occasional track day use a 106/saxo would be better.
