Re: Side exit exhaust
I'd be really interested in a couple of video's a standing tickover then rev one then a driveby one(on the side of the exhaust) to get a better idea what it sounds like.

Get yourself the Youtube app and create an account then you can upload vids directly to it from your phone. Then after it's uploaded you'll have to click share, copy the link and paste it in here so that we can see it.Joeboy wrote:How do you upload vids? I'm only on my phone?

Re: Side exit exhaust
The reason some people fit exhausts like these is because when the turbo is mounted on the front of the engine (like the EVO, focus RS etc) it can be hard to get the exhaust pipe under the car, ecspcially when you're fitting a bigge turbo as the car is lowered too!
There's no reason for doing it when a turbo is mounted behind the engine. Infact with those 90 degree bends you've probably increased back pressure compared to a typical aftermarket/custom rear exit exhaust. You've also increased charge temps significantly by mounting the exhaust pipe 6" from the intercooler pipe. Also seems idiotic to run the exhaust right next to the brake servo too! You know brake fluid boils, right?
Seems like a stupid idea to me but 10/10 for effort!

Re: Side exit exhaust
Seems to be a lot of effort for a leaf blower
Not my cup of tea but it's something I've never seen before so well done

Re: Side exit exhaust
Not much effort, only took a couple of hours. Does double as a leaf blower lol

You've ran the exhaust 6" from the brake fluid reseviour and servo.Joeboy wrote:Why would I make it dangerous?
Do you know what happens to brake fluid when it boils?

You said why not make it dangerous? It doesn't get hot so how will it boil?

Re: Side exit exhaust
When you did your pipework, what brand did you use?
I am thinking about removing my plastic turbo inlet pipe and fitting 70mm from MAF to turbo with a 70mm - 50mm reducer so it fits the turbo.
