Re: Mot fail
I could be wrong here, (it has been known), but I think the rear reluctor ring is inside the handbrake drum, if you have rear discs

Re: Mot fail
The sensor pokes into the drum through the back plate from what i could see... Might have been a ring in there but didn't see one..... But I also wern't looking for one.Doggy wrote:I could be wrong here, (it has been known), but I think the rear reluctor ring is inside the handbrake drum, if you have rear discs

Re: Mot fail
Yep the reluctor ring is hidden inside the drum which normally protects it from the dirt/salt/assorted grime that kills the front ones

Re: Mot fail
+1 - its part of the rear hub assembly for cars with rear discs and ABS. £45 for a half decent one at a LMF.
I thought the speed sensor was on the front wheels, cos when you wheelspin the speedo needle goes up...??

Re: Mot fail
Speed sensor is driven straight off the diff, so yes!
Speed sensor in the context it was written above I think means the road wheel revolutions, so that the ABS ecu can make it's calculations.

Does it really?GingerMagic wrote:I thought the speed sensor was on the front wheels, cos when you wheelspin the speedo needle goes up...??

Maybe not on full-mux cars - a few of us 6-speeders don't have the sensor and the speedo still works.markw wrote:Speed sensor is driven straight off the diff, so yes!

I did transfer mine, but I gather the nav won't work and maybe the auto door locks too, without it.

Re: Mot fail
Ah yes, you're right....I was still in V6 mode where it does operate the speedo!
I should've remembered that Doggy, after having just done a 6 speed conversion on a Coupe. But I guess you'll have seen that elsewhere!
