Ithink what a lot of people are doing on eBay is joining classic car forums..
And picking up cheap bargains the members have given up with..and making it look like
They're buying them to restore/put back on the road..

And ping ..straight on to eBay they go.
So..best way is keep your eye on the forums..just like what's his face does on wheeler dealers..
I forgets his name..

Quite an appropriate addition, and a few black stripes randomly placed across the paintowork, some shovels and other tools mounted to the side, a gerry can on the bootlid, and a spare tyre mounted to the bonnet. :cheesy:

Ive seen a few cars done in this way, they intentionally create rust on some panels and put a lot of stickers over other panels.

I ordered the first new body panel for the 305, the drivers side wing:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111378358814? ... EBIDX%3AIT

I made an offer of £35 and the seller accepted it.

Even better was this bit of kit:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311111307097
I paid £100 for it, but my cousin is paying half the price of it because the rear axle of his van also needs this tool to get the springs out.

I still need to get it a passenger side wing, lower valence, and a stainless steel strip for the door, the other rusty areas are all out of sight so repair panels can be fabricated.

They are quite hard to get, I've seen a DIY tool made on the C15 forum but it has a big hydraulic ram and a hand pump, i dont think that would have been got for less than £100 and it still wasnt the right tool for the job.
Ill take a look at this when it arrives, it looks fairly simple, it might be possible to draw it up on CAD and get the parts cut out of the plasma cutter at work, although i dont think there is a huge market for 305/c15 rear spring compressors.

Im going through leboncoin (french gumtree) for peugeot 305 parts, there is a much better range of stuff on there even full cars for sale in good condition.

However i dont speak any french so i just typed in peugeot 305 and go through the long list of stuff for sale, i found these chopsticks:
http://www.leboncoin.fr/equipement_auto ... tm?ca=17_s

They look like the stainless steel trims that go along the bottom of the windows, how well does google translate work for asking an actual human being something, if i could id like to buy these and get them posted over.

Something like:

Je voudrais acheter les bon baguettes carrosserie pour ma collection de Peugeot trois-cents cinq. Voulez-vous envoyer ces éléments à l'Irlande, s'il vous plaît?

Many french people understand a reasonable amount of english, particularly if you don't put them on the spot and demand an instant response. They are unlikely to be offended by polite enquiries in your own language, worst that will happen is you won't get an answer.

Google Translate says:

I would buy the good chopsticks body for my collection of Peugeot three hundred five. Do you want to send these items to Ireland, please?

I don't know what a "chopsticks body" is, exactly, but I imagine it's some anorexic supermodel.

The "baguettes carrosserie" were lifted straight from the ad Frank linked to, therefore can reasonably be assumed to be a description the vendor understands.

I was giggling stupidly after reading that lot, you nutters :P

Give Eric's translation a go Frank, as he says the worst thing that can happen is nothing. You might want to start it off with Bonjour...

I bought a seat off a French guy for my Yamaha via l'ebay, I reckoned a Google translate would be even more offensive than writing in English, fortunately t'wife has a degree in French (although that was 30 years ago and she's forgotten most of it now  )

Another video of the HDi 305:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX1rR5M6MCw

Its very tempting to do this to the car, enough will be spent on the bodywork, why not give it an engine to match.
A full 406 with no MOT for parts isn't the most expensive thing in the world, most of the layout is basically the same, it probably won't get classic insurance though but thats not a big enough disadvantage.
