Volvos are very reliable and my S60 2.0t wich is the engine in the V50 and S40 of that generation has done nearly 250000k. A V50 will be a good car and has so much space but it will loose its value very fast. Even with the lowest milage it will still be worth less than a higher milage C30.

Managed to finally get the aftermarket mirror yesterday and surprise suprise it's actually of far better quality than the ford items.
The glass seems to be a few MM smaller but it looks like a standard ford glass would swap over no issues at all!

Does it need colour-coding?

I saw a new car last night with LED Puddle Lights in the mirraz and they were really good. Carry on....

I hope the standard mirror back will fit in.
If not then il get some paint made up and paint the primed back that came with the new one!

I do love the puddle lights I must admit. Something I'll miss if I get a C30.

I'm missing my 406 heated seats at the moment.

And the clutch footrest.

And the rear blind.

And the foldy mirraz.

And the leccy seats.

And the arm-rest.

You could always retrofit puddle lights onto your C30 when you get it.

This is a bit of a wild card but it does have more than 4 cylnders:
