Will a sat nav unit fit a normal mfd car

Post by peugeot30v6 »

Hi everyone.
As from January I will be driving around the country with my HDI as part of my job. Would a sat nav unit would fit my car with the normal mfd?

Yes, its possible to fit a sat nav into a car that did not come with it, i in a period of madness did install a sat nav system into my 406, after acquiring all the parts required to do the job (sat nav drive, relay for the irritating voice, gps antenna, the sat nav screen, and remote)
However the sat nav is absolutley useless here in northern ireland, the only thing gained was the improved trip computer, but the type c display now has a few missing lines. The tom tom app on your mobile phone would be a better investment.

+1 - its a bit of work to set the Sat-Nav up properly, but you can simply swap the screens only to get an extra trip computer and a nicer looking display.

Although my old Sat-Nav was perfect, a Garmin or similar is probably the way forward ( and round corners..... )

Really like the intergrated look. My work colleague (who persuaded me to buy my first 406 3 years ago) has a 53 406 hdi with sat nav. Looks really nice. I suppose a Garmin would be cheaper but I have had a couple of people try and steal my old gps. My S60 has a built in sat nav screen which is nice but really distracting. I will have to think about the sat nav for now.
