Not that unusual - I put a deposit on a Y-reg 2.2 GTX with 293k on the clock and a verifiable trail of MOT and service receipts proving it added 180k in the space of a month. I didn't buy it cos the clutch failed before I picked it up.
Researched the problem at the time, found several (mostly V6) owners had the same problem diagnosed by the stealers......
'Due to using non-OEM spark plugs' (x3)
'Someone has tried to 'clock it' (x2)
'Isolated incident, the manufacturer has no reports of this fault'
That's why I
always go to the main dealer.
