These look even worse in the flesh, especially in 'flat' colours like that dark blue.

It still surprises me that they were allowed out of the Factory.

Thinking about it I don't think there's any 'pretty' cars made now? they all seem to look like a Power Rangers Helmet.

The 406 coupe is easy on the eye, isn't overly flashy but fits in nicely with a bit of quiet confidence about it.

It could be so much worse...

I'm still driving behind these "modern" bimmers thinking they look like they've been rear-ended, I still can't believe it's just me either.

It certainly looks like it's taken some beating. WITH THE UGLY STICK.

The BMW 6-series is quite nice, and I'm quite partial to the Audi A5/S5/RS5 shape.

The BMW 1-series breadvan hatchback is hideous.

I also think that Nissan has completely forgotten how to make a nice-looking car (yes, I think even the mighty GT-R is kind of ugly, but I don't doubt it's a hell of a car to drive). Remember the Datsun 240Z? GORGEOUS. The current Z-car is the 370Z, which is nowhere near as nice to look at. The Micra is ugly. The Leaf is ugly. I won't bring up the Juke again (it looks like it's been "brought up" at least once before...)

Marvel at the way the front arch suddenly turns an oblique angle (where the designers pen slipped?) and the way all the windows don't line up with the waste line. Well ahead of its time that touch:

Ah, I see

"Who wants us to design a car for them? Give it to the tea boy and charge them top dollar too, they've no idea what looks good anyway."

The strret ka, well, I would rather pour petrol over myself and strike a match than sit in one but it's not so bad, considering what the piece of crap they started out with looks like.

Took me ages to find this (yes, it's a coffee machine):

And that's their cred out the window.

i think Ital designed the Ital. Not bad for a face lifted Morris Minor though.

Btw that close up of the Pininfarina tag on the coffee machine was my avatar on the coupe club for years, nobody ever noticed.

Marina, not Minor, that would be a hell of a face lift!

My mate ran me over in his dad's Marina once, I managed quite a spectacular roll up the bonnet and off the A pillar, landed in the gutter. It hurt. A lot. That was the same car where he did an emergency stop one day and literally put his foot through the floorpan. I'd like to think back on it with nostalgia but it really was a POS
