Hi guys,
Ever since I first bought my 406, I've wanted to install a boost gauge as it's my first turbocharged car, but until now haven't been able to find the time to do it. After 6+ months of ownership, I decided I should set aside a weekend and get the job done - so I ordered a stack 52mm PSI boost gauge, fitting kit and set to work. (video below)
As my '6 is an HDi 110, I simply used the supplied t-piece on the MAP sensor pipe which meant I didn't have to drill and tap a hole in my intake manifold, meaning I can remove it in 5 minutes should I need to and have it looking standard again.
Next, I routed the pipe through the handy grommet at the bottom of the passenger footwell, through to the drivers side, up past the BSI and into the vent (you will need to drill a small hole to allow the pipe to get through. Finally, I connected the pipe up to the gauge and tested it for any air leaks; once its all sealed you're ready for a drive! I'm really pleased with how the gauge looks, very similar to the factory needles.
And here's a video of it working.

Please note this car has been remapped and the boost level increased to 20psi, a standard car will be boosting to 14psi.
If you have any questions about my install, please fire away
Benjamin

Nice little job, it's interesting that Turbo'd engines spend most of their time 'off boost' or generating little of it.

Re: I installed a boost gauge!
I fitted one on my 306, and found that when cruising at 70, it showed no boost at all. A different story when trying to join 70mph traffic from a side turning on the A1!

Re: I installed a boost gauge!
Very neat. I wouldn't have put the gauge there though, it would impede the flow of hot air on to me on a cold morning.

The vent still works, however there is no longer any horizontal adjustability - besides I can just use the one on the left side of the steering wheel

It looks really neat, great job.
However, I notice you don't have the 5 dial dash, could you have got a 5 dial blank and put the boost gauge in the top middle - probably a lot of work but would be even neater
