Ewww, call in a hazmat team

That looks like another fine car there :cheesy: Do you have plans for all these 305s or are you just greedy? :P

There are lots of old Pugs floating about these parts but I can't think I've ever seen any 305s, I've just checked the ads here and there isn't one but the last time I looked there were two, both saloons and both wreckage.

There was no shocking suprises in the glovebox, just seems like a mouse made itself a home, the previous owner had quite a collection of marching band casettes, and one Jazz tape. Tried to play the Jazz tape but the radio has a code.

Plans, i dont know, it needs a good clean and service but i dont really plan on selling the 305s, all 3 will eventually get properly restored and rustproofed, its more a desire to preserve these cars rather than greed, although AS is partially to blame flashing up french tin like this what can you expect. :cheesy:

Some parts from belgium:

Should save a lot of fiddly welding it takes care of all the front end rust in one handy panel:

Two were ordered together, one for the S5 and one for my cousins van so it wasnt too expensive, the two parts together plus delivery still worked out cheaper than one of these slam panels from over here.

That's not a repair panel, that's the whole thing, and there are 2 of them! Amazing!

This is another panel thats going to take quite a bit of work to get looking right:

No messing about with it either:

This came from the bottom of italy of all places, the only parts left to come are the new sills and lower inner wheelarches from france then its ready for sandblasting.

I also started the GTX up it drives quite well the engine is a peach nice and free revving and sounds great, but is in need of a massive clean, ive hoovered at the seats but still when i whack them dust comes out i think they need one of them vax machines to steam clean them, and the boot is full of dog hairs, is there any tips or tricks for getting rid of them, i tried duck tape but it just clogs up with hairs, the only thing that works is a circular motion on a small area with the hoover and persevering until the carpet is clean:

seat backs all cleaned:

The worst bit on the passenger side footwell:

getting there but still not finished:

Hi,
for dog hair's..ive always used parcel tape.,it seems to get them off,
if there ground in..perhaps you might have to be abit rough..small nail brush or similar perhaps?

Blast them off with the compressor.

Wear a rubber glove and wipe your hands down the seats - the gloves pull loads of hairs out but keep a sick bucket handy for the clumps that come out.... :frown:

I think I'd probably have it all out and pressure wash it all, but maybe they'd never dry where you are :?

Crikey Frank, that wing is an amazing find, how are you sourcing all these panels?

There is no one place to get all the parts from but if you go to the ebay site for a particular country there is a good chance of finding the parts this quarter panel came from ebay italy, ebay france and leboncoin are good, there is also a site called serie 04 which specialises in old pug stuff thats where the sills are coming from

The language issue still is there but the part numbers are the same in all listings i have the microfiche slides but also a handy book "peugeot Talbot collision parts guide" it has the 305 504 and 505 aswell as some interesting rootes stuff such as the hillman hunter, matra rancho, solara, tagora to name a few, so far i have scanned in the pug sections the disgrams are very helpful for finding panels:

That's very useful 8) Have you seen Sambas' Alpine thread on AS? That's amazing me too with the complete panels he's been able to source. I suppose some of that is chagrin though as I could hardly find any parts for Avengers and that was 20 years ago. Mind you there was no ebay then...

Still waiting on my sills to arrive, but got the old automatic through the MOT yesterday
Flew through, even the violin squeak from the back suspension didnt bother them, here it was just back from the test and the certificate, they have done away with the mot disk for the windscreen aswell:

So i bought 20 litres of oil, my dad recently bought one of these saying it was great value all i can say is its a nuisance trying to pour a 20 litre jar of oil into a 5 litre jar of oil without spilling any.

Unfortunatley the oil i drained out of the old girl isnt the best ive ever seen, there are bits in it, initially i thought it was flakes off something else, but i opened out the oil filter and there are very small brass like particles in the oil, bugger :(

Brass?

Small end bearings maybe?

Is it worth wacking an engine flush through it and then dropping the sump and cleaning out as much as you can. You may find if you keep the oil clean and decent it may just keep going.
