Re: Using your own car for business
Nah it was OK actually, bit plasticy inside but seemed solidly built and very comfortable and spacious in the cabin. I can't for the life of me understand why the rich housewives buy these things though, quite pleasant on the motorway but bloody horrible around town! Too big, very thirsty, autobox never knows what gear it wants to be in and on anything but the smoothest surface it lurches and pitches around all over the place. Good off road though

So - having hired the Land Crusher, put £50 worth of fuel in it and covered 0 business miles, how much have you saved compared to using the Volvo?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Well, they have that in common, I'm sure the rest will come with time.DaiRees wrote:on anything but the smoothest surface it lurches and pitches around all over the place.

Unforeseen circumstances old chap, can't be helped! Cancellation of that meeting cost the company about £90 today. Then again going to the meeting would have cost even more and myself and a colleague have been able to be productive all day instead of spending 6 hours in a car....Doggy wrote:So - having hired the Land Crusher, put £50 worth of fuel in it and covered 0 business miles, how much have you saved compared to using the Volvo?
Personally I've saved about £18 by not having to use my own car at all for a day

Re: Using your own car for business
We should do a rental car review - Most recent ones have included:
- Holden (Chevrolet) Cruze 1.4 Turbo
- Toyota Camry
- Holden Calais
- Toyota Corolla
All were rubbish, except for the Calais. 200kw of RWD awesomeness

It's the business.
In my Omega days I noticed you could get a 5.7 V8 Commode Door for 40k AUD or about £16k at the time.
