Today I was at t'Toyoyo dealer's picking up some bits (mud flaps, trunk liner and damage hiding strip) and I couldn't help but notice their sales campaign for the Aygo:

This seems a little, erm, misguided to me. "Buy a Toyota Gayo or you can go fu.. yourself"?

Pfft, I'm 50 and I really don't care what I look like. The "waistcoat" is a vest full of pockets, loads of older guys wear something similar here. I have got a fanny pack thing but there's no way all the junk I like to carry about will fit in it.GingerMagic wrote:I didn't notice, I was busy looking at Steve's lovely white T-shirt / waistcoat combo......

To be fair I have really been bothered about how I look, its not an age thing either, I'm just not worried by other peoples opinion of me any more..... I'm 40, skinny, unattractive and ginger..

Bum bag, fanny pack, whatever. The Croats seem to call them a pedarska torbica (poofta's handbag)

Re: I appear to have taken leave of my senses!
And today I have mostly been.. oh no, sorry, wrong thread.
Finally got yoyoII to the bodywork guy to fit the bit of trim over the damage on the rear bumper, fit the new parking sensors and see why the front wing didn't fit the bumper too well.
As was:

I'll do an as is in the morning as it's dark but it looks much better. He had to flatten the damage out with a hair drier/hot air gun/blowlamp first, but he managed not to damage any of the surrounding paintwork.
The parking sensors look identical but I have the old system in a box. He'll have had to have taken the bumper off to change them. He says they work a bit strangely, they kind of work but beep rather too much. I've not had a chance to test them out yet but if they're annoying I can just pull the ECU again. I'm not expecting miracles for 12 quid.
And lastly, the bumper/wing interface. Apparently Toyota forgot to glue it on properly
When I turned up it was still drying, so it had a natty suction pad-come lever thing on it to hold it in place, but he took it off there and then and it stayed put.
He didn't do the dent in the rear quarter, apparently there's a guy near here who does the paintless repairs (mostly for hail damage) and I'd be better off going to him. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually.
He had the car all day from 8am to 4pm (and, due to the exhaust clamp issue on the Pug I had to walk, an hour or so each way, boooooring
). The cost? 20 quid. But then I had waited until he had bugger all else to do.

As is pic, as was promised...

Wot dammidge?
Sensor colour's not too bad either:

Bit crooked there Darko. Ah well, who gives a stuff?

I notice he's also helped himself to the good sensors (leaving behind the obviously broken one)
You bastard! I was going to, erm, ah well, maybe that's why it cost 20 quid. Still, he could've asked.

Yeah, it's pretty neat. There is a bigger one that covers that whole area (you have to remove the existing one) which is what I was after when the lass in the Toyoyo franchise came up with this one. I couldn't be asked to reorder so this one went one.

It seems daft to me that there's a wide area of just paint there that'll get chewed up by lugging stuff in and out. I can imagine dog's claws making quite a mess of it too.

Re: I appear to have taken leave of my senses!
Today... As there's snow on the forecast I thought it was about time I fitted the mudflaps to the yoyo. On the old one I found the front wheels threw snow/slush/crap up onto the running boards where it solidified into a huge lump of grotty ice, so I got some cheap and cheerful mudflaps to stick on it. They were so hard to fit I never bothered with the rears but, when I got this one, I splashed out on a full set of real ones. They came with a fitting kit (a handful of screws and clips) but I thought I was going to have to jack the car up and take wheels off to drill holes, there's only gravel here so I've been putting off doing it. I had a look today and there was just enough clearance to do it if I undid all the screws and pulled the bumper out to clear the tyre. Half an hour later:

Woo, yay and, if I may, hoopla.
Incidentally, this is presently parked in front of it, it belongs to the lady that cleans for us once a week:

This lady is actually an old friend of t'wife, she used to have a real job but, since the firm she worked for went bust, she's not been able to find another and has been cleaning for people. They've not got a pot to piss in either, so the wife asked her to clean for us once a week. She also has two stunning daughters but that's something I try not to think about. Anyway, she was looking for a car a while back and I got asked my advice. I gave them a few rough ideas, the only thing I was firm on was do not buy a 1.6 HDi. Guess what it is
