I can has be 44 today and for the following 364 days for that matter.

Haven't seen anyone yet until tonight when I get back from work but because I've been good this year I am fully* expecting* to receive a Porsche motorcar, a Harley Davidson and a Baseball Glove signed by Steve McQueen.

I reckon it's quite ok to go and buy yourself something for your birthday, something that you can afford but can't really justify. That way it's never going to disappoint.
