Mrs_Welly away for a week

Post by Welly »

Her indoors is, err, not, she's staying at her Mothers this week so there's only me (out at work in the day  ) and the two kids at home (19 and nearly 17) who are on their summer holidays.

Something's not right though; under the stairs there's a linen basket into which we all put our dirty washing and then a few days later the clothes reappear clean and ironed in the Wardrobes . This has stopped working.

The fridge seems to be running out of provisions.

There seems to be a number of unopened envelopes on the window sill near the front door, do you think they were passed through the flappy hole thing in the front door? not sure whether to look at them or not.

The home telephone has stopped ringing, is it broken?

Any idea what could be wrong or am I missing something?

Did you notice the food stuff not appearing on the table too? I had this problem last week but I was on my own (plus 3 dogs and 8 cats) and it went ok. I even burrowed down said dirty laundry receptacle and found things I hadn't seen since the last time she was away. I'll also have this problem again from today until Sunday, with the added dynamic of my nephew (17) and hos girlfriend (18) staying with me. Ah well, there's plenty of jobs need doing...

You need to keep them very occupied and very apart  tell them you used to be in the SAS and you can hear a pin drop from 200mtrs. In the dead of night. In a thunderstorm. With ear muffs on.

Mrs Doggy spends a couple of weekday nights at my younger daughter's trying to help them retain some sanity / get some sleep despite a 2-year-old and 5-month-old twins. (The kids have a firmly embedded sickness rota which ensures at least one of them is poorly at all times).
On these occasions the dogs' meals (and less frequently my own), fail to make themselves, but it does appear possible to retune the televisual apparatus to something sensible without the sky falling in.
Our kids have all left home so I endure* the solitude as best I can.

She back! surprised me and the kids last night by parking away from the house and bursting* through the front door, I was Ironing whilst we'd been waiting for the Chinese food delivery operative :supafrisk: and she did can haz the biggest hug of evAr. Really glad she's home, funny how things just aren't quite right when your apart.

The kids have recently started asked me if they could have some vegetables at meal times :) looking forward to a nice quiet* weekend all together, can't wait.

My wife spared me that kind of luxury by needing to be collected :(

Pfft, they're of legal age. We actually shoved them up at my gaff on their own so we didn't need to put ear plugs in. The girlfriend is a charming young lady, very down-to-earth and bubbly. What on earth she's doing with my nephew is anyone's guess.

My bro and sis-in-law both stayed in my bed while I was back on the sofabed, which I don't mind at all and I got to wake up each morning covered in kitten :D
