I bought mine after writing off my money pit of an Audi A6 Quarto 1.8 turbo that had been moded to over 320bhp
Any how I was skint after the Audi so started looking round for something big ie an estate.
It had to be cheep to buy & run ie
Road tax £130.00 , cheep on fuel (diesel) so 45+ mpg , cheep & plenty full parts (euro car parts, breakers, ebay , ect)
Nice to drive, nice to look at, easy to mod & robust for the family plus long lasting .
I looked at all the usual suspects,
MG Touring, to expensive at the time + good from some angles but a bit to granddaddy from others
Ford mondeo 2.0 tdci, again more money than I had at the time in (ST trim) + a ticking time bomb (dmf/clutch,injectors+coding ect)
There were many others but all were to much money or time bombs / money pits & I was still hurting from said Audi
So I searched hard & found my current stead,
My one owner 78k 2002 Monaco blue Rapier estate
She's a work in progress when funds / family & time allow
I really should update my signature & pic's, I'll get round to it one day, I'm cap with computers
The current spec is something like this,
Pi 40 / 20 mm lowering springs, Bilstein b4 shocks all round, coupe strut brace & wheels.
Lots of new Bushes / links /drop links & strut top's ect.
De-catted, de-egr'd, 2.5 inch st/st exhaust, one off intercooler & boost pipes, oil cooler kit.
Currently running approx 145bhp with 300ish lbt
But more is on the way
Best car I've had for years for value for money & highly recommended.
I just wish I'd looked round for a 2.2 hdi SE, low milage, late year.
Instead of buying that bloody Audi & proceding to blow over 6k & 12 months of my life moding it on it

The wife don't read this
