Welton's Nature Spot - my Horse Chestnut Tree

I have been growing this beauty for 4 years ever since I happened upon it at our local park and found that a Conker which had fallen from an enormous Horse Chestnut had managed to germinate and take root.

So rightfully so, I [s]stole it [/s] wanted to preserve this miracle and help nurture its every need until adulthood

Well here it is in its own pot, fed and watered and 4 years old and 19'' in height..... What do you think?

I shall show you all it's beautifull Canopy when it comes out soon, a sight to behold for sure...

I think we are seeing some sort of theme here.

First the lawn kept in top nic and now the tree.

Im sure it doesnt say horticulture in your interests, it should. By the way when i left school i did 1 year of conservation counrtry side mangement then 3 years of greenkeeping and sports turf management at college, if you want i can post out my notes

I have just come to enjoy the simpler things in life over the last couple of years.

Years ago I couldn't give two fucks about greenery and lawnwery but now, for some reason, I gain much pleasure from these things, a kind of well being, settled, etc.

Good for you mate, Theirs nowt wrong with that, i love the out door life, i didnt do all that college shite for nothing. I worked on a golf course for 7 years and loved it, something you would be good at me thinks....

Well I have to say.... Welts what are you doing dude ?????

That is a 4 year old that you've taken from the wild and put into a small arse plant pot.... the roots will not spread properly and it will end up like a bonzi tree, now is the time to find a nice spot in the corner and plant her... then feed and watch... in 10 years you'll be amazed! Only a few points I feel I should mention!

1) Plant in good location for access to sunlight
2) Keep away from house.... roots can go far and deep, don't let it lower the value of your property by planting ot right next to the house

But you probably already knew this ! lol

Top tip there niz, thanks.

I was thinking about transfering it to a much larger pot for a couple of years and then planting it somewhere it cannot be damaged accidentaly

The roots are in like a root-ball at the moment and I re-potted it about a month ago into this pot, which is bigger than it looks here.
