best way to sell 406 executive

Post by bnm8 »

Hi Guys
could anyone steer(!!) me in the best way to sell an old but in reasonable condition MOT'd 2ltr 406 Executive saloon?
I've tried Autotrader but no luck, don't want to give it away but just cover MOT costs.
Cheers.

Hi mate - its a bit old hat but eBay is definitely a good way to go - you can take lots of 'complimentary' pictures and highlight the cars good bits too.

Write an honest description of the car, how long you have had it etc ( buyers like to see some humanity in a description ) and not just the usual 'TXT SPEAK INNIT M8' type of advert.....

There will be a fee for your listing, but just incorporate this into the starting bid and try to avoid Paypal as they will also sting you..

You can also copy and paste your advert into Gumtree and Facebook too - Gumtree is free to advertise but not such a wide audience - Facebook may have a local car buying page you can like and advertise on but you may be flooded with muppets trying to swap your car for £50 and a packet of Hob-Nobs....

Good luck - stick a link to you add here so we can have a butchers.

If you are really serious about selling it ebay is definitely the best place. The real value is what someone is prepared to pay and that's what you will get, minus 10% to swell ebays coffers. There will be hundreds if not thousands of viewers so if someone is looking for one they make you a bid, if its the highest they will get it.

I buy and sell all my cars through ebay and have never had a problem. I it was a 2.0. Hdi estate I might be intererested.
