So after my recent speeding capers and subsequent Speed Awareness* Course she's only gone done got collared herself in the Astra of doom last Sunday.

48 in a 40

She said she saw a 'man' with a camera on a tripod stood with a big white van but thought it was a surveyor taking measurements

Anyway to say she's extremely annoyed is understating it. A lot.

I've been working out when best to return the NIP in the post to buy us as much time as humanly possible to pay the fine but fear it will fall just before Christmas

As a surprise, what if I asked for the Photographic evidence and had it framed in time for christmas? make a nice gift?

I did a speed awareness course a couple of years ago.
A 180 mile round trip to Eastleigh, Hampshire and back.

The 2 things I remember are....
my disappointment that they only had custard creams in the tea break.,
and when the tutor/trainer/warder asked what type of road you were
least likely to get caught for speeding, the answer was.....
a motorway.

I used to live in Eastleigh, and ironically the course was held in a hotel about
200 yards from where I was booked for speeding 25+ years ago.
One Sunday morning, I left home, turned on to the main road into town.
Noticed a police motorbike up the road some distance away behind me.
Sauntered the mile and a half into town in my Porsche 911, and out the other side.
Stopped at some traffic lights. Turned green. Pull away, accelerating a little to get
up the slight incline. Speed drifted up to 36 or 37 mph. Instantly, there's the
siren behind me.

Explaining that it's only men that speed/drive dangerously/drink/use drugs or their phones should take care of that.

I mustard mit I've already forgot most of the SAC stuff, oh well. And Custard Creams? we got Chocolate Cake which was snaffled up by the 5 Females very quickly and, what looked like, Manor House Cake which raised a few eyebrows. Oh and on the table; Foxy's Glacier Mints a'plenty.....and Sparkly Water....and still water.

The guys that did the presenting were alright but you just couldn't cut through this air of "you're all naughty and we're going to tell you off politely" kinda thing that hung around all day. A whiff of patronising superiority they tried desperately to cover.....

The air was thick with it on my course. And the numerous times repeated remarks that if, for example, someone decided
to go for a toilet break, and decided not to return....., then, you know, the consequences will be yours, and the law would take its course etc.

I've kinda found my voice in the last couple of years, and have become able to be more politely assertive. If I ever go on another of these,
it would be .....

"How about you just get on with the course. Ditch the attitude, and the little threats. Then we can all concentrate on the useful
stuff. "
