Current issues; I've got a hint of a misfire that's been there for months, although sometimes I think it's my imagination. Left indicator has an annoying habit of swtching itself on when you straighten up quickly after turning right - not exactly the end of the world!
Been very well behaved really, hope I haven't just cursed her.

My friend here, he say's DaiRees car has many hidden faults, for which he will find in the next few moons. He say beware of the brakes on a dewey morn as the 406 has claimed many mens (and sheeps) lives, beware of speed my friend for you may not slow down.
He also say that many a High Pressure Petrol Injection system fail when car is 5 years old. He say HP system, when it break, will make car worth no money he say.
He said it, not me.

the only reason the D8s are catching up with the D9's is cos there getting very old now
and anyway my A/C system is still original and i think most D8s still have it too
plus my car was a bad example

seeing lots of references to the gearbox mounting bush on here - mine is noted as shot - is it do-able without a ramp/axle stands, or do I need to book it in somewhere.. and if so how long should the labour be.. thanks

New Cat (Flexible Section Failed and Cat had a hole in it) £100

Aircon not working at the moment, Cambelt and Pulley to be done shortly (quoted £350 cambelt, £90 pulley).
MY old steed has been super reliable and continues to be with her new owner.
All the repairs done on her are consistent with her hard life as a high mileage commuter.

Non consumables:
Water pump at 177 thousand miles
Consumables:
New Battery at 135 thousand miles (Car was 6 year sold. Original Battery!)
New Brake disks and Pads at 135 thousand miles
New Exhaust at 145 thousand miles, replacing original factory fit!
New near side handbrake cable at 160 thousand miles
Thats about it. I'm not including the usual bits and bobs like bulbs, oil, timing belt and that as these are all expected replacements. So are the brakes, exhaust etc. But I listed them with their mileage to show how long they actually lasted.

There is a whole list of parts replaced, all are a matter of routine. Brake pads and disks. Oil, belts, water etc.
No major repairs or issues to report.
