witch 406 110 or 90

hi everyone,about to become a 406 hdi 02 or 03 reg,owner anyone no the best engine to get 110 or 90 never had a 406 before never mind a diesel,what should i look for? or keep clear of!! thanks in advance

personly i would go for a 110 :D more poke
just make sure ot has good service history and see if the clutch has been done and make sure everything electrical works also the air con
then bascily what you would look for in any car when you go to buy it

i am sure others will be on to tell you if there is anything else :D

since your coming from petrol to diesel i'd go for the 110, you'll be shell shocked by the 90 particularly if you like going places in a hurry.
Former 406 owner, now just another chav in a 306 D turbo!

the 90 is a more reliable unit as it has no electronic boost controller, and no DMF also the siemens pumped units have no in-tank pump, but the 90 in a 406 is pretty damn slow, the 110 feels much like a 2.0 petrol but with far better economy, up to 62mpg :lol: according to the owners handbook
the 110 has a lot of electronic problems and the dodgy DMF which is a common failure point
they both suffer with wiring faults and high pressure pumps (like any common rail diesel) but all round they aint that bad, though i am a mechanic and i wouldnt buy a HDi :?

thanks,been using a astra estate 1.7dti that is fantastic a juice might get one of tose :|
