bought my new car!

Post by jameslxdt »

i just won this on ebay 8)

i know its a D9, what am i thinking, but i wanted an estate to carry all my tools arround in, and i needed something heavy to use as a tow car, my dad convinced me that the HDi and the D9s arent that unreliable, after bidding on a few and failing i finally found this one, it just needs a head gasket which is no trouble for me 8)

its a bit of a heap, but will make a good project

the 7 seats will come in quite handy
i reckon the roof rail got broke by someone dropping something heavy on the roof, as i emailed the guy and he did say the roof was damaged aswell

See I'd have thought the most likely way to break a roof rail is to have some drunken bastard hanging off it

Congrats on the purchase James - should be a nice little car with the 110HDI up front!

Seems like it nees a bit of tidying up but given a bit of time...should be looking rather nice! China Blue = best colour but a royal pain in the arse to keep clean!

Fair play, that's a lot of car for the money. Seem to have a good buy there.

Typically, no one checks the coolant level for ages and they overheat damaging the head.

I hope the heater matrix is ok

And no more D9 jokes will be cool.

The seller guy was a bit optimistic about the high 40's around town though

I also love the "the aircon just needs pumping up a bit" line

Good luck James!

Good luck - D9 is the way forward.

Looking forward to the diesel version of your faq

Perhaps a few photos of the gasket swap would make a nice thread.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

Good luck James. I reckon it'll either be a complete disaster due to severe lack of maintainance and you'll end up breaking it or a great car after a little fettling. Sooo cheap though, worth taking the risk!

I quite like black on the d9 and dark grey on the d8. china blue 306 (esp medians) look good. China blue does need to be shiny to look good thou (which doesn't take that much effort).

Nice to known someone with your skill with the same car/engine as mine and done 10k more than mine. You should be able to warn me when things are going to break one mine  , well for a little longer i expect i will catch and pass your car (in mileage terms) at some point in the not too distant future.
